Potential emergency averted through a comprehensible intermittent report coupled with urgent intervention by the cardiologist.
A 77-year-old male presented in the Cardiac OPD with the complaints of occasional palpitations. As part of his assessment, he was prescribed Vigo SmartHeart continuous ECG monitoring solution for 5 days. On the 3rd day, the patient experienced episodes of palpitations along with an episode of giddiness. The doctor asked for an intermittent report which was generated within 5 mins. The report showed Typical Flutter waves followed by compensatory pause of 7sec during the symptomatic phase. The treating doctor immediately recommended the patient for pacemaker implantation. Post the procedure the patient was stabilized.
